He played a retired drill instructor in the short-lived 1987 ABC sitcom Roomies, a reference to his time spent in the United States Marine Corps, where his character chooses to attend college after retirement.
2017 saw Burt Young make a comeback to the stage in Dave Varriale’s play The Last Vig, where he played an elderly crime boss. The performance took place at Los Angeles’ The Zephyr Theatre from January 14 to February 19, 2017.
