Lana Del Rey is surprisingly elusive for a rock star, even famously trying to back out of a cover story for a 2014 issue of Rolling Stone.

And on Saturday TMZ reported that the 29-year-old has taken another step towards securing her privacy - relocation.

She recently acquired a $3million beachfront property in Malibu, California, as a way to escape overeager fans who could too easily reach her at her current home.

Private person: The famously elusive star - who has been out of town, performing Sunday at Manhattan's Governor's Ball - took a big step to further secure her privacy 

The publication reported that Lana is currently residing in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, which, while luxurious, is too accessible to fans.

Fans would reportedly camp out along the street of the Summertime Sadness singer's home, with one even getting into her backyard.

Allegedly the Grammy-nominated performer was tired of having to worry about people encroaching upon her personal space, hence the move.

According to real estate sources, Lana's new pad is a three bed, four bath beachfront property boasting 2,860 sq. ft. 

The isolated home also offers a large, sheltered patio with stunning beach views for an infamously morose star who's said she's happiest 'going to the ocean.' 

Another benefit of the secluded new property is that it is surrounded by rocks, which means no neighbors, and that the private star will likely not be bothered.

Had enough: It was reported that the star was particularly inspired to move after a fan made it into her backyard

However, while the location - and privacy that comes with it - are ideal, the star is said to be planning a remodel for her new home. 

Recently the native New Yorker has been out of town, performing performing at Manhattan's Governor's Ball.

On Sunday she flaunted her figure in a fitted Yankees dress as she took to the Honda stage - three years after her last gig in the Big Apple.

She was the headline act at the show, and hit the stage, declaring it was 'good to be back' before opening her set with the track Cruel World.

Buoyed by a keen audience despite some volume issues, she then performed Cola, Blue Jeans, West Coast, Born To Die, Ultraviolence, Summertime Sadness, Chelsea Hotel No. 2, Brooklyn Baby, Shades Of Cool, Serial Killer, Video Games and Off To The Races.

Looking seasonally attired, she matched her look with a pair of strappy metallic sandals and wore her hair in a simple center-parting.

The chart-topper certainly looked at ease on the stage and kept accessories to a minimum - namely some hoop earrings and red nail polish.
