NWS rates Muscatine tornado as EF-2

The Quad Cities National Weather Service has surveyed Monday night storm damage in Muscatine.  They conclude a tornado with winds up to 115 mph did damage to dozens of houses and 2 homes lost their roofs.  

The tornado is rated as an EF-2 and was 200 yards wide.  It stayed on the ground for about 1.8 miles and injured 3 people.  

The tornado touched down in Kent Stein Park and proceeded through neighborhoods in Muscatine.  This tornado was on the ground from 10:05 to 10:10 p.m.  

We’ll continue to update this story with more info, as NWS teams are still out assessing damage from Monday night’s severe weather outbreak.
